A great post, Stephey!
It made me think about how new and unexpected problems arise, once you've launched your creative business! Problems, that one would have thought were a luxuory before one started out! And that makes them really hard to deal with. One of the crazy things about being a professional creative is that it's extremely easy to burn out. You love your job after all, so it's all too easy to give it way too much time.
Anyways, thanks for a great read that sparked many thoughts!
Hi Kate
You're right, when you love your job you can give it so much time that you neglect yourself and viola! burn-out or creative crash. I'm still learning when to say when cuz I do love what I do and supporting others - it's so natural! But I realize I am of o service to anyone, ESPECIALLY, my creativity when i have gone kaputs from exhaustion. Then I get frustrated because I can't bring the ideas into fruition the way they want to be, which is completed and all that uncompleted energy boggs me down. No bueno what so ever.
I enjoyed reading your insight regarding the :unexpected problems that arise". I relate to this. One of the unexpected problems that I found was too much inspiration can wear a girl out - who knew?
Thanks for sharing!
I love your blog! and I hope is ok if I included in my favorite blogs to read :) You are so right, its so easy to procastinate and fisnih a project when there's not a deadline or when we go through a creative block. I think the most important thing is not to stop, to keep drawing, keep moving... Thanks for sharing your story!
Hi Sara!
Please feel free to the blog to your favorites! I'm honored thanks :) You're so right, sometimes our best defense to procrastination is self-determination, to simply to decide to follow through and complete what we set out to do is a huge accomplishment! It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Thomas Edison, ""Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."
Love the idea that belly laughing is not only fun but supporting my family's well being!
congrats to you for your post on Scoutie Gilr blog-I am checking it out right now!
